Suppose that you were given car parts—an engine, chassis, wheels, seats, etc.—and asked to build a car and drive it around town. Would you? Some people might. Not me. I don’t know how to build a car.
What if you were pressured to build that car and drive it? Would you? Would it scare the hell out of you? It would me. If it actually got onto the road and started moving, you might as well bury me in it, because I’d have built my own coffin on wheels.
How about something simpler. Do you invest in the stock market? Most people don’t invest in individual stocks because it requires a lot of expertise and knowledge that needs to be updated daily if not hourly. It’s a lot of work. Most people, if they have financial investments at all, buy mutual funds that consist of many stocks managed by experts with economics degrees and years of experience. Or they hire a broker to handle their investments. They don’t want their financial future resting in their own, inexperienced hands.
