Thanks to my subscribers!
It’s been an eventful year, and I expect next year will be eventful too. There have been so many changes to our society in recent years, many of them not so good and some very good, and I expect I’ll continue to write about them here. I hope that I have more positive than negative issues to write about next year.
I appreciate all my subscribers, especially the paid subscribers. I’ve been writing for many years and feel compelled to do so. In the past few years, my articles have been getting accepted and published regularly in reputable national magazines and newspapers, which has been flattering. I was finally getting the word out to large audiences.
Unfortunately, those reputable national magazines and newspapers are all behind paywalls. Some readers complained to me. My compromise was to set up this Substack newsletter. Roughly one third to one quarter of my articles are free, but some require a paid subscription (only $10 per month). I do this because at least your money goes to me, not to some large corporation. However, I need to be able to justify continuing my writing. The articles take a lot of time that I could be spending on one of my many projects or playing poker. Please consider paying for a subscription. Otherwise, I just can’t justify the work I put into this. Also, consider a nice gift subscription as a holiday present to a friend.
I’ll repeat:
Please consider paying for a subscription so that I can justify my effort.
A subscription to the Good Intentions newsletter makes a nice holiday present.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, or best wishes for whichever holidays you celebrate.
Sincerely,
Bob
