You’ve probably heard the following parable, but I gave it a twist for current times. Here’s the original.
A man is sleeping in his home while torrential rains begin overnight and continue into the morning, causing severe flooding. As the river rises, the man stubbornly stays in his home while others flee. A car drives by, and the driver offers him a ride to safety. The man replies, “I’m a religious man. God will save me.” After some argument, the waters are rising and the car will not be able to drive on, so the driver flees for his own safety.
